JM: Did you find it difficult to get along with other inmates?
Sam: no the other inmates were for the most part very
kind and easy to get along with
JM: What types of things did you have to do to avoid problems or fights with other inmates?
Sam: it was a give and take as long as you gave
people the respect you would want things would
go well
JM: Were you able to choose an inmate if you knew one?
Sam: we had single cells but once i got to prison we
could pick who we wanted to live with
